In Moderan you can store data from Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) and Building Certificates - BREEAM, LEED and WELL in the Building cards.
Energy Performance Certificate
▶ Assets > Buildings > Energy Performance Certificate
An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) is a standard that provides information about the energy efficiency of the building. It is a key tool for assessing a building's environmental impact and energy consumption.
In Moderan it is possible to collect information about each building's certificate levels with Expiration dates and Values (kWh/m2/year).
This option is available in the Building card > Add Energy Performance Certificate:
Click on +ADD NEW and create a new line with the main information from the original certificate: EPC rating, EPC value, EPC Start date (when certificate was issued), EPC Expiration date. In the Description field you can add additional information, if needed.
We also recommend storing here information about previous Certificates, this information can be later used in analyzing the sustainability progress of buildings and the entire portfolio.
Simply add an additional line with the corresponding dates and values. Only latest information (active line is marked in white colour) will be visible in the Building card's view:
When multiple buildings have Certificates added, you can get an overview of EPC, Certificate Expiration date and Value in the All Buildings list:
Building Certificates - BREEAM, LEED and WELL
▶ Assets > Buildings > Building Certificates
Building certifications play a crucial role in promoting sustainability, energy efficiency, and occupant well-being. Among the most widely recognized standards are BREEAM, LEED, and WELL, each focusing on different aspects of building performance:
- BREEAM - UK-based certification that assesses a building’s overall environmental impact, emphasizing energy efficiency, resource use, and ecological value.
- LEED - globally recognized U.S.-based standard that evaluates sustainability through energy savings, water efficiency, CO2 emissions reduction, and overall environmental responsibility.
- WELL - certification centered on human health and well-being, focusing on air quality, lighting, water, comfort, and occupant wellness.
While BREEAM and LEED primarily assess a building’s environmental sustainability, WELL is dedicated to improving the quality of life for occupants. Many buildings pursue multiple certifications to achieve a balance between eco-friendliness and human-centric design.
If you have these Certifications done for your Building/s, you can store the data from these Building Certificates in Moderan.
Hint! We have now included the most widely used certification types: BREEAM, LEED, and WELL. If you use a different certification, let us know, and we’ll be happy to add it.
Here are the steps to enter the Building Certificate information in Moderan:
- Go to the Assets > Building card > Add Building Certificates:
- Choose the Certificate from the drop-down menu and fill all the information from it:
Hint! Certificate Categories can vary significantly, so we have left them open for you to add freely, exactly as stated in the Building Certificate.
- In Moderan you can add information of multiple Building Certificates in one Buildings' card. Each certificate should be recorded with the new line. Simply click on the +ADD NEW and insert all the information from another Certificate:
- When certification details are added for multiple buildings, the All Buildings list provides a clear, structured overview of all certificates alongside other key building information.
